Sara's storytelling continues in "Work in Progress" although her work is far more "complete" on her latest album. And Sara always delivers that added treat of exceptional catchy music on top of the brilliant lyrics...it's a powerful and riveting combination. Few artists are able to move me with such emotion as she does on the song, "Only a Kiss," where unrequited love takes the form of a kiss that means so much more to the singer than it does to the object of her affections. "Obvious" continues the theme of unrequited love, pulling us into empathy for the singer as we ourselves fall for the sweet lyrics and moving sound. The haunting "Not Happy Today," is another emotionally moving piece, and despite the title it's a life-affirming ode to taking life's punches and getting stronger for them..."Tomorrow I'll bounce back a brand new girl..." My other favorite on this album is the inspiring "Wake Up," which provides the perfect balance and "answer" to her other songs, and does it all with those delicious lyrics and wonderfully infectious hooks.
