Sean Wiggins delivers another solid collection
by Just Jerry
"Next Time Around" is all about relationships. Sean Wiggins examines the problems that plague all of us when we open up to other people.
"What If" will have a familiar ring to anyone who has second-guessed how they treated someone else, wondering if things could have turned out differently. It's followed up by "Next Time Around", where she optimistically declares that she'll "get it right next time around". Substance abuse proves an insurmountable obstacle in "My Best Friend".
Just when you're starting to wonder why she would continue to subject herself to all this abuse, Sean answers with "Hopeful". It reassures us that love can take the sting out of life. Two of my favorite tracks are "Before I Fall" and "Unrequited". "Before I Fall" deals with the fear of commitment that grows out of a series of failed love affairs. "Unrequited" has a beautiful, minor melody that underscores a wonderful romance...that only exists in the singer's imagination.
A notable achievement was that "No Difference" won 1st Place for R&B/Blues in the 11th Billboard Song Contest in 2002. Sean trades her guitar for a piano on this beautful number and shows yet another facet to her considerable talent.
