by experiencegI have been a Doug Brouder fan for almost 20 years now, as he is a hypnotic songwriter with a true lyrical gift that is hard to come by these days. His songs reflect strong emotion, memory, and experience through dazzling landscapes that are as comforting as they are intriguing. "Grounded" has it all- folk, funk, pop, acoustic, celtic, and rock inspired pieces that recall Richard Shindell, Tom Petty, Chris Isaak, and the Beatles all at the same time. The kickoff track, "I Miss the Us," is a gem, sucking you in right off with its keyboard-tinged warmth, snappy lyrics, and dangerously catchy melodies. The rest of "Grounded" is fantastic as well, and this album will NOT stay unnoticed for long. Well done.
