"A" Game
by MFNJCFirst off, every one should go to an Oso show. If you can't do that, then the second best thing is this album.
It captures the chemistry and electricity that Oso engenders with his audience. Tracks like "Lotus Eaters", "Instant Karma", and "Red Road Blue" evoke memories of Jim Croce and Bob Dylan.
A brilliant nug of ear candy and salve for the soul.
A fitting entry point for new listeners, a validation for those familiar
by BGCafeThis recording plays nicely to oso rey's strengths - which, most immediately, continue to be his arresting vocals and his fluid, snappy rhythm acoustic. In fact, his vocal/spoken dynamics have grown even beyond the "Last Day of Clouds" disc. As for his lyrics - political, social, interpersonal - they're given proper delivery via his insistent and passionate performance. Still, grins are clearly evident in the audio as well. More!
