i came across these guys by mistake and believe you me, that's exactly what it was. it seems like so many bands are trying to be original but come across as a bad rip off of their influences, which in the case of the feral children is obviously modest mouse. unlike the former, feral children try but ultimately fail at a sort of synth pop noir which is most obvious on "baby brother", team that with backing vocals that are nearly two octaves to low, a rhythm section that acts as more a metronome then an asset and some of the worst lyrics that a person can come up with and you'll get some semblance of what feral children have to offer. all in all, if you'd feel good about throwing your money into an open flame, then by all means get this record, but if you're like most normal people i wouldn't waste my time or my dollars.
