Yes, John Wickham was one of the best guitarists in CCM during the 1970's and 1980's (The Way, Horizon, Parable, Benny Hester Band). His wife, Lisa (Irwin) Wickham, and he were excellent worship leaders at Calvary Costa Mesa for many years. His brother Mark was also an excellent guitarist (and mechanical engineer).
This album is instrumental (as John is not a proficient vocalist). That should not deter you from listening to the samples and adding this album to your album rotation during the Christmas season.
If you want to hear John's early guitar work, find the albums "The Way" and "Can It Be", or try the second half of the "Parable" compilation album.
John, Thank you for the many years of encouragement that you have given to us through your musical gifts. God Bless You!

So Smooth, Like Electric Eggnog
by Judge of the FunkJohn has taken some wonderful Christmas classics and made them amazingly smooth with his thoughtful guitar stylings. I've heard quite a few "guitar-Christmas" attempts, but John makes sure that his grooves fill the seasonal atmosphere. This will be the album you want to have on when you want to get into the true Spirt of Christmas.
