Not the Slang I used to Know
by PeasThis album is nothing like "Belleweather Project", Slang's brilliant 2001 U.S. debut. (If not their U.S. debut, the first that got attention). "every day" sounds like it was made for t.v. shows on the WB. A disappointment at best, the edge and intelligence that marked the band's earlier work has been traded for pablum. While this recording is better than so much out there, my hopes remain that Slang will return in the future; for now this is one to pass.
