Album Review
Woodwind musician Mark Russo presents a fresh approach to Christmas standards with his release Instrumental Christmas. The California player leads the way on saxophone, flute, oboe, English horn and clarinet with Mark Etheredge contributing his work on piano and synthesizer, Chris Miller on percussion, John McCrea playing guitar and Tom Poole on trumpet. The well-crafted disc offers innovative interpretations of Yuletide favorites, including a Latin beat "White Christmas..."

Best Ever!
by irishswtpeaMark is not just an excellent oboe teacher (yes, I'm biased), but this is a wonderful album. My family plays it in the background during holiday parties, and we're never without a compliment on the choice of music. The oboe, english horn, soprano sax (I could go on) are incredibly lyrical, and beautifully played. If you want a great Christmas album, I'd go with this one. Mark is top notch, and so is his album.
