Nice Trip Down The Road
by Big RoyalBlues Highway is the debut CD of a local Atlanta band. The guitar work by band leader John Marshall is exceptional but stiff in places. Hoppin to the Boppin stands out as a good venture down the smooth jazz trail which features S.O.S.Band guitarist Reggie Ward. Bassist Nashid Abdul (Najee, The Platters, The Temptations) serves as producer. Atlanta R & B showman Pete Petersen laments about the prospects of finding "A Better Woman" written by W-I-P drummer Ben Irvin. This song has been much radio attention in the Southeren Soul markets. Sven Hooson provides vocals and harp on Blind Man Blues & Digital Blues. Another Atlanta entertainer, Big Royal (Chick Willis' keyboard player) , tickles the ivory and sings on the B,B, King cover of Rock Me Baby. He also provides a soul strring performance on All Your Loving (I Miss Lovin). Although the CD does have as many covers as original tunes, it is a gallant effort worth listening to.
Do not buy this album!!
by km04The album is a piece of crap. Do not spend your money on it. You will not be pleased. They sound like a regular cover band that everyone has heard millions of times. You will be highly disapointed.
