BUY THIS EP!...NOW!
by Christopher StrandFrom the chilling opening of "Lose Yourself", to the untitled hidden track that was recorded by one of the members while waiting for the band, this EP doesn't dissapoint. If you are looking for an up and coming band that appreciates the great artists before them, this EP is for you. The members of Western Fifth, not unlike Wilco in this respect, understand that they can learn a lot from prior great musicians, and in doing so, come up with some great music of their own. Don't hesitate to buy these 6 tracks; you will thank me for it as soon as you have listened to them non-stop for two days, by that time officially unable to work because Western Fifth doesn't quit rocking out for your job. Put this music on when you go to bed, it will talk to you in your dreams.
Strong Soul-Baring Music
by Corey ZThis album is fantastic. The sound is very haunting. The lyrics are strong and soul-baring. The music has an alt-country sound, which is executed beautifully. Do yourself a favor and check this one out... if you are a fan of bands like Wilco, Iron and Wine, Okkervil River, Band of Horses, and artists like Paul Westerberg, you will not be dissapointed.
