small gems
by moosixNot crazy about this band- Somewhat amateurish (get a different drummer) however..
Wormhole is excellent. It's probably why I'm a bit more open to this band now- It's a very crafted tune with a very strong ,angular, hip melody. It says a lot about the author of this tune.
The other gem is echolgic. Fine guitar playing.
I apolgize for being blunt as I know these are probably sincere musicians. But a reviewer for anothe JamCamp Cd made a statement that this band is unsurpassed locally.=Just simply not even close. To compare a hobby band w/pros isnt reasonable but understandable as a fan comment.
The drummer should take some lessons from a pro- listen to some of the more contemp drummers like JoJo Mayer to update the dated sound.
Some of the tunes have a very dated "jam" sound as well- same two chords back and forth. Reminiscent of high school.
But- lots of potential as hinted by Echologic and Wormhole.
