Who cares what it is, I love it.
Genre? What's a genre? Diablo Swing Orchestra is honestly one of the most creative and fresh bands I have heard in years. Their sound is something akin to if Squirrel Nut Zippers had a love child with Therion which was in turn raised by The Cherry Poppin Daddies. Hard to describe, but I assure you, you will not be disappointed.
What fun!!
I love female fronted prog/metal bands like Nightwish and Therion, but the only thing D.S.O. shares with those groups is the fine soprano singer. D.S.O., dips into all sorts of musical styles. "Poetic Pitbull Revolutions" has a Flamenco sound, "Ragdoll Physics", a retro 60's keyboard vibe, and "Barlog Boogie", swing style. I don't know how one groups can make each song sound so different and cool. Great production recording, magnificent musicianship and most of all, just a blast to listen to.
Great progressive metal
Combines Jazz, classical, and metal all into one wonderful mix.
