by The Rock WarriorArticulate Song Craft + Precision Performances + Majestic Production = Deep Cut Euphoria ! In the tradition of complete works by U2, Echo & the Bunnymen, Coldplay, Police, Gabriel, etc. This album has so many telling moments, that it's hard to pinpoint those one or two songs where all components coalesce into the one example that I'd want to play for people.... can I just state that it's a thoroughly satisfying listen from start to finish. In my playbook that equals Deep Cut Euphoria !
PS: Where did these guys come from ? This is major league stuff ! Bring on the Dark Tonight !
Ecclecticism still has a place
by Dark BardThis record is a triumphant debut effort. It has an immediate impact yet gets better with age. Where did Chris James, et al come from with such winning songs out of the gate? These tunes remind me of U2 or Bruce Springsteen 3 or 4 albums into their respective careers. The entire album is beautifully put together and rewards multiple listens (especially through headphones). Audiophiles and fans of substantive, well crafted heartfelt music take note.
