Modern Vaudeville
by Moron NectarThis album and group meld the old vaudville style with modern jazz just enough to create something new and fresh. My favorite thing about this album, however, are the stories told in each song. Clare Fader and her Vaudevillains know how to tell a story, plain and simple, be it about Betty Crocker's thieving ways or the adventures that can be had under an epic moon. Left WIth the Thought of You instantly became one of my favorite songs, and still is many years later, as is this group which gave us far too few albums before their apparent fade. The songs are wonderful, united and yet diverse. Do yourself a favor by getting this magnificent album. I guarentee you it is unlike any other album you will buy for some time.
