what a tribute album should be
by NaftuleThese re-workings are so creative and fresh while keeping the spirit of the originals. I'm a big fan of tribute albums in general, and this is as good as they get. (there's another Oingo Boingo tribute album out there on iTunes, but it's nowhere near as good as this one)
WAYYYY on the outside
by BoingoBoyLet's face it: tribute albums almost always flop in the end. But that's because the bands usually have grown up with the songs years before. Not in the case of this album. The makers of this album gave indie artists a challenge: listen to a specific Boingo song that you have never heard before, then do it yourself. The result? A mix of punk, country, lounge, RnB, cabaret, and techno that continues to keep the Boingo spirit alive after all these years. A must listen.
