King, John Lee Hooker and Willie Nelson, Von Em breathes new life into historical 5-chord progressions as he searches for the soul of modern Rock, Folk and Country. Live from Rockwood Music Hall subtly carves out space in the contemporary musicscape for all of the types of emotions that can happen while in between feeling good and feeling blah, between having the world on a string and the world on your shoulders. Von Em's honest vocals and Dylan-esque, no-FX acoustic guitar seem to join together every coffee shop that's ever had a really good guest singer and every music festival that rediscovers that music goes straight from one person's heart to another.
