by XOXOXOXOXOI know Sarah, and she's really nice. She sings wonderfully and is always motivated to make a good song. She's one heck of an artist, and is modest about her life and career. She's not stuck-up and prissy, she's just a great person with the talent and love for singing. My favorite song is You're The Thing. Her sister helped her write it! :-)
A True Original
by lizhipwellI've seen this artist live and she is so unique. It's hard to compare here to anyone. The closest I can get is Peggy Lee. My favorite song is HAUNTED HEART. You go Sarah Lyn!!!!!
The 52nd Street Jazz Tradition is alive and well!!
by DeanmeistrSarah Lynch may remind you of Jo Stafford, or Jerry Southern, or even a hint of Blossom Dearie, but she is an original in her own terms. Great songs, including some originals that tuck neatly into this group. And her portuguese is amazing; remember Jobim's hits from the 60's? She (and her amazing backup) catch the sound dead on.
Can't say enough about this new artist, and this album gets played constantly on my iPod for the last few months, and I've given it as gifts to jazz lovers who dig the smokey sounds that you used to hear on 52nd street, on old Verve recordings...you get the drift.
