I heard Zane play at a small dude ranch in Idaho and promptly bought his cd and played the entire album on repeat. Hurry Home actually won the John Lennon songwriter's award. I heard it today on the radio, sung by someone else and I couldn't help miss Zane's simplicity and rustic tenor voice. Another favorite song is The Distance Between. Incredible lyrics about longing to be the person we want to be. Really all of the songs are pretty great and diverse. Sleepy Angel is a song I put on a lot of cd's for kids; it has a lullaby feel. I don't often buy whole cds anymore, but I woud highly recommend this one!

The Real Deal

Zane is a truely talented songwriter and musician. I feel in love with "Livin' in the Good Ol' Days" and "Just Like a Country Song" when he was making the honky tonk rounds in Nashville a few years back and felt like they could easily succeed on country radio. "Amazing Grace" and "Back Porch Band" have a great blue-grassy feel and both are awfully catchy. His sharp sense of humor is laced throughout the album but shines in "Worst Case Scenario" which made me snot beer out of my nose the first time I heard it. He does a great job of staying away from the pop-influences that are all over today's Country Top 40, but still keeps his sound modern and fresh. This CD is definitely worth your time and money.

Oustanding Up and Coming Artist

Masterfully written and executed, Zane Williams is one of the few artists around that still understands the concept of an album. With witty, charming, meaningful, and sometimes hilarious lyrics, Zane Williams easily makes my top charts of musicians. With this being only his first album I look forward to his future career and great songs from him. A great buy.
