Great American Music
by Jerry JodiceI host a weekly independent music podcast called "The Great American Music Hour" (available on iTunes) and have recently discovered the music of Shocking Edison. This is a very cool album in that it incorporates many musical styles and points of view. I particularly like the male and female lead vocals; rather than being a distraction, it really works. My favorite songs are "I Met A Girl" and "Sad Song," not to mention the great cover of "Coming Into Lost Angeles." If you are a fan of Great American Music, you will thoroughly enjoy this album.

Fresh, exciting and entertaining!
by AutumnBlueI had heard a lot of buzz about this band, so I was a bit skeptical. I had to hear it for myself so I picked up a copy and threw it into the CD player in my car. Then I forgot about it for a couple weeks. When I played it I was blown away! These guys are truly original. I have heard a lot of comparisons to other bands, like Cake, Snow Patrol, Eve-6 and B-52's, and I can hear the resemblance. But I have to say, this band is really unlike anybody else. They are original and very theatrical. The music kind of reminds me of the older Meatloaf band, but with a female lead. Each song is different, and there is something for everyone on this CD. If you don't like one song, then you'll like the next one. Billy Payne (of the legendary band, Little Feat) plays on many of the songs and adds a lot of texture. I can listen to this CD over and over, and never get tired of it. I can't say that about too many CD's I buy. Get it, you'll love it!
