Takes me home
by KillianHis first album (A benefit for the Purple Rose) was more intimate, but this album took Mr. Daniels from a great actor with some musical wit to a full fledged card carrying songwriter in my opinion. Although there some references to Michigan (Mr. Daniel's still-home state), notably in #7, #10 and #12, this music just takes me back to my Monroe County home town in an instant: it's like he bottled Michigumi in song & lyric. My U-10 daughters will listen to Buckless Yooper for hours on end (maybe it reminds them of their grandfather). #5 must have been inspired by driving in San Francisco.
If you love Jeff, you'll love this.
by secondplayerOn my search for Super Sucker I stumbled across the fact that this great under-rated actor has a musical career. This is some of the best stuff I have ever listened to. If you have seen and loved Escanaba in da Moonlight then you will absolutely love this. I have the feeling that this sound will echo in my head for weaks to come. If you want proof you should shell out the dollar and listen to Are You As Excited, its not the most upbeat, but it shows off his song writing skills.
