Far Away Blues is the best
by CumminsNV4500I have see Adam alot at so of his shows at Gruene Hall and my dad got me hooked when he got out his Ovation guitar and played Lookin out the screen door and Ol Milwaukee's best.
Talent beyond words
by soda=cavitiesIt's rare to discover a songwriter who has the talent to write a whole album which every song is good and worth listening to, but Adam Carroll has done it with Far Away Blues. He is not only an outstanding guitar player, but he is also a remarkable lyricist and his talent on the harmonica adds just the right touches to his songs. I only wish there was more harmonica on this album. It is definately an underappreciated instrument in today's sad hip-hop, crap rock, and boring country music world. I can't wait for a new release and I look forward to seeing him live many times because He lives just a few miles from me and he fortunately understands the importance of local shows. This album is an absolute must have for anyone interested in something a little more down home. In my mind, it definately deserves the five stars.

by Josh from DallasMy brother tipped me off to Adam Carroll a couple of years ago when he fished "South of Town" out of an old CD case. It was scratched up, but played alright, and I was blown away by what I heard. Carroll mixes a deep, homegrown sound that plays more like folk than country, but still has enough of the latter to satisfy fans of that genre.
I hadn't seen "Far Away Blues" yet, but if his previous work is any indication, it should be an album that is great for some laid-back listening, and goes well with Pat Green, The Lost Trailers or Robert Earl Keens softer stuff. Give him a try.
