I'm no expert, but this is awesome listening!
by JSRiefI’m no jazz connoisseur, although I plan to pay quite a bit more attention after hearing this group! I picked up this album after hearing these guys play at a local arts festival, where they were absolutely unbelievable. I have seen people I know don’t normally care for jazz music perk up and listen at the ridiculous amounts of talent that overflows from these musicians. As I said, being no expert, I won’t try to critique this from a critical standpoint, but I can say that the music is uplifting and easy to listen to. It’s versatile enough that you can sit down and just concentrate on it, or use it as terrific mood-energizing background music. I especially enjoyed “Wade in the Water,” Steepe’s Mode,” and “Just One of Those Things.”
