FIne Debut
by PagraPadraig Rynne`s debut album is as fine piece of music as you will ever hear. Although this young Irishman from County Clare has been on the scene for some time this CD is his first solo endeavor.
For those who don`t know his instrument,the concertina, is a bit on the difficult side to play even remotely well. Padraig creates a new dimension to this instrument with his mastery of it.
His treatment of the tunes on this CD varies in that he puts his stamp on each and every one of them. This may not please some staunch traditonalists but there is no doubt that respect for this music is well engrained in Padraig.
He is accompanied here by some former band mates and players from his current group, Guidewires.
A thoroughly enjoyable CD and for anyone who relishes fine players and good music.
