Rock on!

by kansasblues

Tony is one amazing musician.
He shares the same birthday with Eric Stroeve(aka the Flying Dutchman),
who has emerged as one of the best guitarist, mandolin players I have ever seen.
His choice of melodies is incredible, and now his songwriting skills are showing some maturity.

Thirteen is a pretty solid body of work. This is Tony's thirteenth cd, and his mastry of acoustic guitar and banjo has now been joined by some pretty darn good songwriting. "Used" surprised me. Great start to the CD! I also really like "Thirteen Down Below," a song about the mine disaster in West Va, and "The Alcohol." "Take me to the Pilot" is a very clever cover of an Elton John song. Those who enjoyed "Runnin' Down the Dream" from Bare Bones will enjoy this as well. Nice job, Tony!
