Pushing Boundaries
by omgshdude542With their first release, Goesl's Parade becomes one of the premier Christian rock bands in the Texarkana area. Blending techno and garage rock with mellow piano interludes, the band clearly seeks to push the envelope while spreading the message of the Messiah. Lead guitarist Trip Clark is probably one of the most technically sound guitarists (and musicians, for that matter; he also plays bass and piano) in the Texarkana area, while Chris Shumake dazzles audiences with his quirky effects (and a personality to match!). Songs like "Goesl's Parade" and "Million Miles" showcase the guitarists' obvious talent. Heith Guilbert, the band's main songwriter and singer, shines on "Little Window" and "The Wedding Song", a tribute to his wife. The driving percussion and ethereal sounds of Wishing Things Different makes the album one of the very best new Christian albums. Every song on this album is worth listening to, which is something that cannot be said for many albums. If you're looking to expand your musical horizons while praising the Lord's greatness, this just might be right up your alley.
Great Start
by MrBookI can't wait to see what they do next. This is clearly a very talented band with a TON of potential. I hope they keep pushing boundaries and experimenting because the best songs on here are definitely the ones that are a bit further from norm. I hate that the label "Christian" has to be slapped on it because it's not great Christian music, it's just great music.
