GNR + Zappa + Johnny Cash = DMFS
by Amory BlaineThe album sounds like a mix of Guns N' Roses (lots of hard rock guitar solos and riffs), Frank Zappa (funny and intelligent lyrics), and Johnny Cash (when country was punk, before it turned into pop schlock). There's just all sorts of great stuff on this album. The production is top-notch (there's even a full orchestra in one of the songs), and the hooks are so catchy that they'll be repeating in your head non-stop for weeks. And there's also some sort of indefineable energy in the songs that seems to be lacking from most rock music on the radio stations these days. In all, a definite 5+ for this album. Can't wait for their next one!
Holy crap it's the Dirty Marmasomething
by Wade BoggsThis album is amazing, every song sounds like a different band. It's sort of like if Ween remade Def Leppard's "Hysteria." Best song is I Wish I Was A Black Man. The album art sort of reminds me of Sinatra.
