The best of their releases

by Moomjean

I'm not quite sure how to classify The Stone City Stragglers. They are clearly country, but an edgy alternative-country, with deep rock influences. This album is their best: great lyrics, catchy hooks and very well produced. SCS is full of talent, with Brent James' masterful songwriting and powerful vocals, Phil Lazzari's flawless guitar solos, backed up by Bret Figura's innovative percussion. Allison Moroni's background vocals, and songs where she takes the lead are simply beautiful. "Comfort of the Drug" is a standout hit, but the entire album is solid from start to finish.
