Solid Rock
by oceanbreazStone the Hostess is a good, solid rock band. This CD has a good mixture of harder rock with a couple rock ballads. The opening tune, "Ride the Wheel," has a "classic rock" flavor - as do most of the tracks. Though "Beautiful World" sounds a bit mournful, you can hear the emotion come out through the music, the vocals, and lyrics.
The CD is good, but it does not do them justice. The vocals aren't as strong as they could be - it sounds to my untrained ear like the mix was off just a bit. However, they are an excellent live band - if you're in New England, you NEED to check out their live shows!
All in all, I highly recommend this band!
