All That I Can Bring
by tjhillThis CD is one you're going to want to listen to over and over again. You're going to want to share this CD with lots of your friends too. Gina Stockton's "All That I Can Bring" has a feel and vibe that gets to you heart and soul. Gina is the kind of singer/songwriter that simply pushes Christ to the beautiful top...like those wonderful old "push-up" ice cream pops we used to get from those trucks that roamed out streets when we were kids? That's what Gina does with her musical talent, Christ is put right on the glorious top, where everyone looks, where everyone expects the best part to be.
Particular songs that stood out to me were "Return For Me" with an awesome fretless bass solo by Gina's husband Norm Stockton. "I Will Not Forget" has an anthem feeling that sticks in your head. The cut "Free" has one of the coolest electric guitar solos you'll ever hear by Kevin Rogers. And Gina does a very unique "cover" of Delirious's "Lord You Have My Heart".
All in all I think you'll be pleased with this CD and like me be eagerly waiting for Gina Stockton's next offering.

ALL THAT I CAN BRING
by unckA lot of modern gospel music is heavy on the message but
frustratingly light on the quality and intensity of the music. This is
a welcome exception, an album that is spiritually focused in its
sincere lyricism, but also played and produced extremely well. Aside
from one tactfully executed cover song, these are original
compositions that exude a faithful reliance and unflinching purpose,
shining through in both the carefully crafted words and the precise
musicianship. Decidedly modern, the feel of the music is airy and
ambient, unassuming in its ease. It works well with her vocal style,
which is confident but not overbearing. The pairing yields a
combination that is soft but steady, with each instrument adding small
dashes of sound that accent her melodies with a tasteful subtleness.
If you're looking for an ambitious and original take on modern gospel,
give this a listen.
