by pragmatic_leeFirst heard Jalan at a CD Warehouse in Atlanta - the owner happens to be a friend of Jalan's bass player. Bought this CD immediately and have enjoyed every minute of it.
Just got my first iPod this week and the first "music" I looked for here was Jalan's. Found that all 3 of his CDs are available, so just purchased the other 2.
Live is better, but...
by BibleNameI have come to the conclusion that the world is not fair... People make bajillions of dollars (technical term) making crap for music and someone like this does not... Live shows are, of course, as with almost any "bluegrass" band (I hesitate to call them this, it's like Johnny Cash, but not as much bass in the voice, Bob Dylan, with a much better voice, and Allison Krauss & Union Station with a lot more sweat), soooo much better and you MUST go see this stuff live if at all possible, but the recorded stuff, what I've heard of it so far, is well worth it. The technical expertise they show on all manner of stringed instruments is unbelievable, not to mention the drums (freakin' LICENSE PLATES, at one point, I mean, wow), and the songs themselves from the lyrics to the bottom... fantastic
Aaahh Jalan...
by WyNot?I saw Jalan a couple of years ago in Buffalo, Wy, and it was the best show I've seen. This album doesn't quite do it for me like the others did, but it's worth buying.
