I've changed my mind!

Scratch that; The music REALLY grew on me. This is now one of my very favorite albums. I adore the lyrics. If I had to choose (which I barely can!), I'd say that my three favorites are Disaster, Song to Make You Cry, and Like You Like.

by skaweberI first saw Ms. Kreutz play at the Monday Night Hooteneanny at The Sidewalk Cafe in the East Village. I had just moved to NYC and was looking for an "Open Mike" forum to hang, listen, and play in. Good ol' Latch introduces her, and out she comes! Everyone in the audience obviously knew and loved her, and her music, dearly, and after she was halfway done with "The Viking Song" (From "Pretty. Pretty Stupid". Why isn't it here on Itunes??) so was I. I bought her CD for 5 bucks and I still listen to the songs from it at least once a week. That was, what, 6-7 years ago? If you like the music from Juno, you'll love Phoebe Kreutz, too, I suspect.
Charming folk and pop songs
by Colonel Pharoah SandersPhoebe Kreutz has a sweet voice and a charming, offbeat sense of humor. She's also a good storyteller. She spins yarns from such various topics as a former queen of England ("Oh, Elizabeth I") to a wild west where women were women ("Lesbian Cowgirl") to the hard-living life of a rock band ("The Ballad of Throat Culture") to a simple summer night ("All Summer Long"). A real treat.
