Not sure what happened
by Andy OchiltreeTheir first album had a nice subdued groove to it that's missing from this one. I really enjoyed their debut's uniformity, it was a unified sound without being boring, and this sounds too all over the place and, frankly, uninventive. Just ok.
Real Musicians
by donfelipe2In a time when most bands are made up of players who are merely (and sometimes barely) competent in playing their instruments, the guys in El Ten Eleven stand out as true virtuoso musicians. When people see them live and realize that this band is the real deal, they freak out that 2 guys can generate such a huge sound.
This is not just two computer jockeys cutting and pasting in pro tools, then jerking off on stage while an i-pod hidden under the drummer does all the work. They recreate everything live on the spot and don't rely on pre-recorded loops that are all too commonly used by 'so-called' bands these days.
The songs here rock harder than the first record and that's a plus.
