This album is pretty much amazing. I love technical metal. I love space sounds. I love creepy voices. I love black metal-esque singing.I felt like i was taking a journey through some other dimension. If you love what i love then you'll love this.

Very Unique Scifi Themed Progressive Metal!

Out of the metal albums that came out in 2007, this album easily made it into my top ten. The band's overall sound is technical and hard hitting especially on the aggressive and pummeling drum work, riffing, and soloing. The guitar work really plays with your expectations on what riff is going to come out next whether it be a shred or thrashier style making each song distinctive and entertaining. On top of that, the sound is overlaid with different programming for an alien and spacey science fiction feel at times and something that sounds like a massacre happening on "Epilogue," and thankfully it's just enough instead of saturating every minute and becoming a bunch of boring filler. Along with those spacey alien sounds, the lyrics of this work really bring forth that science fiction theme of a journey through future alien lands whether it's describing some sort of "gas creature," space flight, or future war. It's often told like in a story especially on "Beyond the Lands of Human Existence." Another really unique element about this release is the vocals. One can argue that this is "blackened" progressive metal from the black metal raspy vocals used throughout. It gives a nice extreme punch to the overall sound, and the mixing of the clean haunting vocals on a lot of sections creates a feeling of despair or epicness depending on the theme of the song. This release has a truly creative and original taking on progressive metal that's high octane, aggressive, and very memorable. If you're a prog fan you won't want to miss this journey through space and alien worlds! Highly recommended.
