talented bunch a folks
by b7radif you've been to the galax fiddlers convention in the past couple years you know that these guys have become one of the biggest and most entertaining bands there. i got to sit down and hang out with these guys in galax, great guys, great music. its not your typical bluegrass but it's music full of talent and lots of humor. great live band, they cut up and entertain in more ways than just playing music. get on the shortbus!
Completely Undefinable in that Old Time Way
by banjobkpThey are rabid Old Time hybrids with no commercial sensibility, rationality, and/or boundries.
Not for the Right Winger Bluegrass Nazis or Old Time Preservationists. This is about awesome chops with a total irreverence for the "rules".
Bottomline, as often they make you feel uncomfortable, they also lay it on the line, taking no prisoners, and playing better than 90% of the progressive jamgrass bands out there.
They are really heros, but it ain't going to be easy listening music. But you will want to stand up and cheer and know that irreverence and reverence can coexist in this band.
