A Unique Vision of Pop and Beyond
by jepenseSome words that come to mind when I think of this album are “colorful”, “creative” and "honest". There’s so much to listen to here, so many surprises, yet no matter how abrupt, the surprises always seem organic and sincere. I hear something new each time I listen, whether it be the meaning of a lyric, or the presence of a background melody that I hadn’t noticed before.
Most of this album is some kind of pop-rock music, but much of it is something else entirely, though I’m not quite sure how to categorize it (Bound to be Free, Heap Variation, Counting Backwards etc…).
Also, the guitar playing is fantastic. Wallace is a truly gifted musician and songwriter (not to mention the inventive arrangements). Highly recommended.
