Truly terrific stuff - highly reccommended
by paladorAs a fan of reggae, I have to admit that I find myself listening to very few current reggae recordings. Though there is a lot of good music out there, too much of it is pleasant enough, but lyrically lacking and musically stale. Not too many artists are making interesting, at times challenging, music. JohnStone, however, is doing just that. While I loved Eyes Open and the dub version (Eyes Open - Dub), Innocent Children is an even better, more complete album. There is a real sense of a band exploring and discovering its sound, drawing from a palate of sounds including jazz and rock, but with reggae at its core.
This is a great album for fans of roots reggae as well as those looking for something unique.
