Album Review
Don't get thrown by the name — F**k's music is, for the most part, minimal, slow, pretty, and country-tinged (in the same way albums like Cat Power's could be called "country-tinged"). Pretty...Slow, as the title indicates, is even more hushed and intimate than the band's other releases — most of the tracks are off-kilter ballads played on dimly recorded acoustic guitars or clicking electrics with bass and light percussion. The record serves as a nice highlight of F**k's lighter side — their other releases feature more full-band tracks and more developed songs.

by six string slingaI bought this album as a 15 year old on a juvinile whim, and was actually floored at how great this really was. I think the orignial CD came packaged with some weird doll-sized plastic toys or something... But when I listened to the album this fell right in line with my PJ Harvey and Archers of Loaf indie-rock leanings of the time. Sounds like the quieter, creepier side of those artists. I still don't know a thing about these guys, have no idea what any of their other albums sound like, and honestly never thought I'd ever hear it again. Way to go iTunes. Pick this up if you have a hankering for true mid-90's indie rock, you won't be dissappointed.
