Surprisingly Good
by JoanCrawfordFanI purchased this on the strength of my enjoyment of The Sicks (2001). However, unlike that album, this one is more accessible and less pretentious, and features a number of songs I could see on popular TV shows. Majandra's voice is used in a more supple manner and her mini-duet with now-ex-husband Devon Gummersall is a treat. The lyrics are whimsical and charming, with just a touch of the darkness exhibited in The Sicks. If this album were produced by a major label the closest I could compare it with is a mix of Dido, Norah Jones with strong doses of Judy Garland in her earlier MGM musicals. Stand-out tracks include Poems Spill, Still Not Over This, The Places You'll Go, and Syrup Like.

by Julie04I wish that Majandra was more well known so she could get due credit for her work. This album is amazing, and I don't think there is anyone on the radio right now with a voice comparable to hers. The Places You'll Go is my personal favorite; it's a song that will automatically get me out of a funk. I would highly recommend the album!
