New 2 the Brain addresses philosophy and politics, growth and truth, love and despair. This sophisticated album is sure to be a classic.

by Jzf_KThe use of the number "2" in the bands title not only reinforces the fact that these cats are hip to the new generations shorthand way of communicating, but also represents the duality of the soul and mind. I couldn't stop rockin' and the lyrics, well, they continue to surprise me!
Groovy beats, lush instrumentation and profound lyrics!

The album's title track, "New to the Brain", has a rich mixture of world sounds and groovy electronic riffs, all set against the profound lyrics that set the stage for the rest of the album ("Self realization/is the name of the game/How 'bout a little compassion/and a lot less blame").
The track "Politics Un Usual" is a witty and timely commentary on today's political landscape. Again, the depth of the instrumentation and funkiness of the beat will keep you rocking while the lyrics surprise you with their depth ("Conservatives, liberals, labels for/ people, neocons and apple pie/ A marketplace of ideas/ With something I can buy").
A strong message on the power of our thoughts to change our reality, and the necessity to trust in ourselves and value our existence, coupled with flawless production, smooth beats, and rich instrumentation, New 2 the Brain reminds us of the power and depth music can have, while still rockin'!
