Still delicious after all this time...
by sea4929Like others who have reviewed thus far, I first heard this band's work through the old MP3.com web site. The songs have staying power for it's been almost ten years since Emotional Blur -- four since A&S -- and the material is as relevant today as it was then. These artists produced the whole package... insightful lyrics, solid instrumentation, catchy melodies, and mesmerizing harmonies... all work together to create a very listenable album. If you have the budget to buy only one indie album, I definitely recommend that this be the one.
Fresh, crispy, and satisfying...

Amazing band
by twilightmoon1It's a shame that they produced basically 1 1/2 albums (as the 2nd album Addictions and Scars has a lot of the songs from the first, Emotional Blur). I was introduced to Red Delicious in about 2000 when they were a huge hit on the original MP3.com. They were conspicuously absent on iTunes for years and years. A very popular local band from Pasadena, that made it's own success without being signed to a label. Addictions and Scars looks like their last work as, according to Wikipedia they busted up in 2005. Their sound is very original, and their melodies aren't typical, or repetetive. Each song has it's own sound, and even within songs they work to vary the melodies and have great lyrics, too. I don't rate them with 5 stars lightly, in my opinion they really are that good.
