Great singing and guitar playing from a soulful and bluesy singer!!
by sammadogI discovered Cathy Grier about a year ago on a pay-per-view special on music, while I was bored in a hotel room. Her soulful voice floored me, and her guitar playing was very good. Cathy has a sexy and sad quality to her singing, and her wonderful voice fills the room. She sings very naturally, without a trace of the modern annoyances that plague female singers of today -- there are no showy frills and diva-wannabe antics going on here, just pure, beautiful singing with feeling. The album is full of great songs, sung solo with her accompanying guitar. The sound is clear, unpretentious, and perfect for the songs and the artist. I am not normally someone to go for an album like this...I'm more into classic rock and modern bands like Black Crowes and Jet....but this album is always a delight to listen to when I cue it up. Highly recommended!!!
