Album Review

On this, their 2003 release and first full-length album in four years, Connecticut art popsters the Dent can be found as poised as ever for breakthrough impact. Their brand of power pop features Mitchell Linker's delicate and polished "Simon & Garfunkel meets the Beatles" lead vocals sitting atop a beefy underbelly of guitar, bass, and drums. Some of the songs throw in sweet keyboard strings for good measure. For the most part, Farewell consists of spry melodic pop. The infectious "End of the World" sounds like a single that could chart. Having relocated from Ithaca to Connecticut, the band seemed to have found its legs again.
