Fantastic Progressive Album - and definitely CHRISTIAN!

by dkixoye

Its hard to imagine a progressive band that keeps the high standards of musical/artistic integrity while being uncompromisingly committed to thier faith. Divine in Sight has done just that. Fantastic musicianship, a concept piece thats almost an hour long, all make this album a great ride. Jon Dexter on bass really shines with that signature rickenbacker tone. The real gem on this album is Black River which stands alone as a great prog song about letting go and letting God's will triumph. A real masterpeice of Christian Progressive Rock.

They're a talented band, but...

They change the pace too fast without blending into the mood.
Too much instrumentals without much guitar solos. I know they're a Progressive-Rock Band, but I feel like if you're going to do instrumentals you need some alot of solos or something amazing to go along with it, but they still have those just not very much, though.

The vocals seems out of place alot in this album and too soft. I also think he should add more volume into his mic, sing louder, try a higher pitch and scream/whine a few more times to get "into the feeling."

Almost all songs deserve 3.75, but my favorite song is March of the Damned and Black River. It's a very good debut album for a christian progressive band. But I feel like they can do way better than this.
