Amazing debut effort
by jillardI saw these guys live in London a few years back, and they put on an amazing show. This is a very strong debut album -- Alex and Hannah trade off songwriting and lead vocals, lending variety to the album -- songs explore both sides of their one-time breakup (they've since married, so there's a happy ending!). Strong influences include Gram Parsons, but I liken it to old Whiskeytown (Strangers' Almanac era) -- Alex as Ryan, Hannah as Caitlin Cary (although, in my opinion, Hannah's got better pipes!). The band has a new disc out this month, called "Take Me Home" -- hopefully iTunes adds it here or else i'll have to buy it on Amazon!
painfully beautiful album
by David from TNThis album is so good. This gal can sing wonderfully and overall the band is amazing. Country is a bad term for them, but they have a very nice country-influenced sound. The slide sounds great. Overall, this is instantly one of my favorite albums.
