Great disc, lots of fun!!

This is an outstanding disc by a band that should be more widely known. They could be described as timeless as they could appeal to a wide range of ages and tastes. The music is well recorded and the performances are very polished. These guys have great style and really swing. I defy anyone to not want to get up and dance. The band features brothers Jason and Sheldon Valleau. Jason performs on acoustic bass and tenor guitar. Sheldon performs on baritone ukulele. Both are also lead vocalists and songwriters for the band. It also features Scott Duncan on violin and mandolin and Rob Vulic on drums and percussion. Dmitry Shapko guests on tenor sax with some very tasty playing. The Polyjesters incorporate elements of swing, bluegrass, Django-style jazz, and 40's/50's classic song, it is all of the above, yet none of the above. Their music never sounds derivative or dated. They have a style that is all their own and sound completely natural and fresh. The songs here are all originals and are tuneful and witty, with superb vocals and great harmonies. They have a real knack for writing catchy melodies that will just stick in your head. This disc easily stands up to repeated listenings. It is lots of fun and has been in my regular rotation for months.
