Imagine Clint Eastwood in a "Curry Western"
by artifaxI first heard Stephan Mikes at the Shadyside Arts Festival and was enamored of his music. I typically would bypass sitar but you must hear it in a relaxing atmosphere. I spoke with him and discovered he was born in Chicago, moved to Pennsylvania in his early teens and settled in Miami after college. This would seem to explain his fusion of eastern sitar with many western, jazz and Caribbean rhythms. Stephan Mikes is truly a musician.
