Surprising

by bandofbrothersWW2

One of those albums that drive me as a songwriter, that I know, beneath the corporate high beams on the radio.. that there are these types of songwriters out there, writing and singing these types of songs.. kind of music that calls you out on the highway, when Springsteen was pure on the album "Nebraska" or song "Cautious Man", or Dylan was pure on "Blood on the Tracks". Or Willie on "Red headed stranger". Calls you out to the highway, with a cheap four track recorder, with a guitar and harmonica, to drive across the country, stay in cheap motels, write songs. That there is something real and life giving in songwriting. Good album, moody, gritty, like storms on the highway in Wyoming, a beauty to the emptiness.
