game to soundtrack

A Triumph And A Pity
by JazzDuckThe triumph is that Digital Droo is finally getting some more exposure and success. The man definitely deserves it. The pity is that this album is actually rather monotonous compared to some of his earlier works (like Drufin, Gunga, Madness (Turn It Up), Four, A New Idea, etc.) If you can find a copy of the collection of songs he wrote for the MacAddict magazine, you'll find it's so much more varied and interesting than this album is. Tokuda is great at this style of energetic, grind-guitar-meets-piano-meets-trance-meets-blips-and-beeps electronica, but it's only one facet of what he can do.
The best electronic album you've never heard
by ParanoidYoshiAndrew Tokuda (aka Digital Droo) has created a masterpiece at the level of electronic music greats such as Tiesto. Tokuda's melodic but intense style is exemplified in this album in tracks such as Grind, The Universe in a Jar, and Provoke Me, I'll Hit Ya. It's a shame that this album never made it big. If you're a fan of instrumental trance, you'll definitely want to check this out.
