ONE OF THE GREATS
by matty BThis man came to my college in 2000, He was humble and very personable when approaced afterwards, unlike most pianists of such caliber Scott was very cool. I can say, Scott, in confidence as he was one of us and was happy to give autographs. This mans hands on a piano were unreal! and he did one Chopin cover, I felt an artist with so much more technical ability playing in a style that not require extreme runs and complication, but notes that made sense and a groove that many classically trained musicians forget! The entire show felt familiar but in the end was all original making this artist completely different from most!

Most people who play piano, they want to show you the whole keyboard and let you know they are *playing.* Scott Kirby, however, wants to show you his heart, and speaks through the piano. I cannot put it anymore clearly than that. This album will demonstrate this to you.
I hope that one day he will put his Scott Joplin compilations on iTunes. No one--NO ONE--plays Scott Joplin like Scott Kirby.
