The Kid is the Man
by Bit McGiddlesWhile nothing compares to witnessing the funky, bluesy, soulful dynamo known as Kid Dynamite in person, this recording comes close to capturing the essence of the long time Kingston Mines favorite. The tracks are a little uneven, but most of the Kid's best is here: "Members Only", "You Ain't Satisfied", "Step Out on the Town" and "Something You Got" are classic Kid Dynamite. The playful "My Baby Snores" is a favorite as well. Of course, nothing compares to the Kid's rendition of "Strokin'", which he simply makes his own. Get get get get get get get on down!
